Frequently Asked Questions
Some of our Westlake locations now have an extended line of Craftsman tools, including an auto hammer, which is great for attacking those nails head on. Find an extended Craftsman line near you.
A great tool of defense is a fire extinguisher. This can be used at a distance and present an escape opportunity. Because zombies are slow moving, you most likely will not need to use hand or power tools to defend yourself. But having them on hand to scare away oncoming zombies is advisable. In this case, keeping your tools organized and accessible is of the utmost importance. You can achieve this by using any of our tool boxes, chests or belts – all of which can also be thrown directly at the zombie.
There are many ways a zombie can maintain privacy and space from the living. Consider fencing to keep humans at a distance, or board up your house with anything from wood to wrought iron. Something as simple as drapery and blinds can help you remain low key. Alarm systems are also a great for alerting you of an intrusion of the living.
There are many things you can do to both block and eliminate the odor of neighboring zombies. For immediate relief, please refer to our extensive line of deodorizers and air fresheners. For long-term results, use portable air purifiers, which will significantly help improve the overall quality of air inside your home. NOTE: It’s not a bad idea to recommend our line of deodorizers and fresheners to your zombie neighbor, attacking the source of the smell first-hand.
Any lock will help increase your overall security, but Westlake offers numerous options so you can select those that best fit your living situation. We have everything from door locksets and deadbolts to chain and cable locks. We even have padlocks to keep the undead out of your tool sheds or backyards.
For small holes, repair is simple . All you’ll need is spackle, a putty knife and sand paper. For holes larger than an inch, instead of spackle, you’ll want a product that’s made not to crack or crumble. We also have kits that include a self-adhesive patch that you place over the hole.
Westlake’s extensive line of bolts, nuts and fasteners will help even the most decaying of zombies. We also carry a large variety of cable, wire, hobby metal, dowels, pipe and even paint stir sticks, all to help you reinforce deteriorating limbs. TIP: Take before and after photos and enter them into our monthly customer project contest for your chance to win.
There are always ways to help prevent fires and detect them before they get out of control.
First thing to do is make sure you have working smoke alarms throughout your house.
Secondly, ensure that all flammables, such as gasoline, kerosene and paints are kept in proper containers, tightly sealed and stored away from the location of the zombie encounter.
Thirdly, always have a fire extinguisher on hand.
Our outdoor living department carries many tools and accessories that could be used if this happens, including rope, tarps and towing equipment. We also recommend pool skimmers for the removal of messy excess left after the zombies have been removed.
Zombies only arise from their place of rest, so this is not a concern unless your backyard is a cemetery. But zombies do tend to wander from yard to yard, and their heavy, dragging movements can do quite a bit of damage to yards, gardens and flowerbeds. If this occurs, please refer to the Westlake lawn & garden department.
What will best help someone in your state-of-nonbeing is making sure you’re completely prepared before you get started. Have a plan. Check for frayed ends and exposed wires to prevent fire hazards. Test lights for replacement bulbs. Ask yourself, “Can I string the lights together? How many extension cords will I need? Are they three-pronged for outdoor use?” Answering all of these questions before you begin will help ensure you can install them all once and can be done with it. No. Keeping your doors and windows locked and secure is an important and effective defense against zombies. Unfortunately, though, zombies have been known to break the occasional screen or window. If this happens, we have the supplies and tips to help you repair the damage. Or we can do the repairs for you in any of our stores. To increase your overall security, consider installing alarms on your doors and windows. It’s great way to alert you of unwanted guests, such as zombies and other intruders.
It’s important to remember that zombies ARE attracted to light, so adding motion-detection lights to your home is inadvisable. However, persuading your neighbors to install them could work to your advantage, as zombies will then be attracted to their houses, as opposed to yours.
It IS possible that the smell may attract zombies, so it’s important that, when you fertilize, you do so quickly and effectively. We have two styles of fertilizing spreaders that will help you achieve speedy and efficient results. The broadcast spreader is great for larger lawns and putting a lot of fertilizer over a larger area, while the drop spreader spreads fertilizer directly between the product’s wheels, offering you more precision in tighter spaces.
While there is not a pesticide specifically designed for zombie removal, deer repellent has been known to work, as it simulates a smell quite similar to death, thus deterring the zombies away from the direction of the scent.
You’ll want to visit our hardware & fasteners department ; there you’ll find an ample supply of nails, screws, etc. – everything you could need to ensure your tree house is safe and secure.
