How do I tune up my lawn mower for the season?

You’ll need a spark plug, an air filter and oil (typically 10W-30). These are available as individual products, but they’re also available as a kit at your local Westlake. Once you have these, you’re ready to begin:

• Shut off fuel to the carburetor by closing the inline fuel shut-off valve.
• Drain your mower’s oil into an approved oil drain pan. (Dispose of all oil at your local oil recycling facility.)
• Replace oil with new oil.
• Replace spark plug with new spark plug using a spark plug socket and a ratchet.
• Replace existing air filter with new filter.
• Sharpen blade.
