Westlake Ace Hardware and The Salvation Army partnered to distribute fans in KCK community

Kansas City, MO – Aug. 1, 2019Westlake Ace Hardware partnered with The Salvation Army for a free fan distribution event on Thursday, August 1st at its location at 7523 State Ave. in Kansas City, Kan.

More than 1,000 fans were made available to the community at the event. The Salvation Army and Westlake Ace Hardware had a team of more than 25 volunteers on-site to assist with the distribution.

The donation of the fans was the result of Westlake Ace Hardware’s annual nationwide Fan Drive held in June. In the span of just 18 days, $78,450 was raised across the country, equating to more than 5,700 fans given to people in need. Approximately $20,000 was raised right here in the KC Metro through the generosity of Westlake Ace Hardware customers, which provided more than 1,000 fans to The Salvation Army of Kansas and Western Missouri to distribute.

The Salvation Army served more than 23 million Americans in 2018, which included cooling stations in the summer months, essential services at every major disaster, holiday assistance for struggling families and 54 million meals for the hungry.
