How do I plant chrysanthemums?

When planting chrysanthemums, you should space your mum plants 18 – 24 inches apart. And use the depth of where they were in the original pot when determining how deep to plant them.

Once the mums are planted, apply a liquid starter solution (any house plant fertilizer) at one-half the label recommended rate.

TIP: If your mums come in a plastic pot, use scissors and cut down the sides, so you can remove the plant without disturbing the roots.
