How do I replace my fuses and/or select the right one?

Here's what to do:

  • To find a blown fuse, look for a blackened area in the glass center of the fuse. If the fuse isn’t too black, you may also be able to see a break in the fuse.
  • Simply remove the fuse and replace it with another fuse that has the same rating as the fuse you’re removing. Never replace a fuse that’s rated differently than the one you’re replacing.
  • Use fuses with inspection windows to make it easier to tell whether or not a fuse has blown.

When replacing the fuse, be sure to choose the correct size.
