Painted Jar Luminaries

Take a regular mason jar and stand it up on a newspaper with no lid. Paint the outside of mason jars with spray paint. You can also use acrylic craft paint, but it does scratch more easily. Do one light coat and be sure to let it dry completely. You can do a second coat if you want more coverage.

Create stencils out of cardboard for faces or draw them on freehand using a sharpie. Then paint the faces using black paint. Then paint the jar rim using black paint.

Let all the paint dry completely, then spray two coats of clear coat, letting each coat dry thoroughly.

Use tea lights or LED candles in your display.
