What can I use to control mosquitoes?

It's the time of year to enjoy spending time outdoors with friends and family. Whether your enjoying a holiday barbecue or a weekend camping trip, you should be prepared to protect yourself from mosquitoes and other insects.

Here are some tips and products to help enjoy the outdoors this spring and summer without insects "bugging" you.

Use a fogger around landscaped areas and vegetation that normal sprays can't reach. The fog kills mosquitoes on contact and creates a "mosquito-free" zone for up to 6 hours. The fog is gone after 5 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the area again. Small cans of fogger can be taken on camping trips, to sporting events, or picnics at the park.

Candles and Torches
Use candles and torches in small areas where you're entertaining without any fragrance or harm to people or food.

Personal Prevention
Warm weather means time spent outdoors doing the things we enjoy. Whether that includes hiking, sports tournaments, or just relaxing in the great outdoors, there are several products to protect you from mosquitoes. While sprays are effective and are the most widely used, wrist bands and belt clips are also available to help repel mosquitoes while participating in outdoor activities.
